Millions of people around the world lack access to basic dental care. Rather than sending short-term aid, Teeth Without Borders provides the tools and training so individuals can create custom, high-quality partial dentures for themselves and their local communities.
Founded by Pierre Anthian, a dental technician with over 38 years of experience, humanitarian, and social activist, Teeth Without Borders was born from a mission to democratize dental care worldwide.
A Life of Social Impact: Beyond 38 years in dental technology, Pierre founded the Montreal Homeless Choir (1996–2003), empowering 54 individuals to transition off the streets. He also served as a municipal councilor in Laval, Quebec, fighting for transparency and community empowerment.
From Yucatan to North America: While crafting free dental prostheses for underprivileged Mayan communities in Yucatan, a local realization shifted his perspective: access to dentures isn’t just a remote-world issue. Research revealed that 9% of Canadians and up to 16% in Quebec, cannot afford basic dentures.
The Mission Today: Combining technical expertise with social activism, Pierre shifted his focus from just crafting teeth to serving the vulnerable people who need them, making functional and aesthetic dentures accessible to all.
How self-reliance changes lives worldwide
Must I have dentures already for this concept?
Absolutely: 2 complete prostheses at the top and bottom or 1 complete prosthesis and a plaster model of your natural teeth of the opposite jaw (we provide in the kit the elements to take this impression). On the other hand, for a partial, you do not need to already have one.
Do I have to be gifted manually to perform my part of the job?
Not at all. We just need you to give us the impressions and it’s a professional lab that will take care of the rest. Your part is however essential, because it lays the foundations for the steps that will be done in the laboratory.
Are the materials used of good quality?
These are the same materials and tools used by dental professionals. The teeth are VITA brand (one of the most recognized teeth brands in the world).
Is the laboratory that will finish my dentures reliable?
Yes, the lab received all of the European and North American certifications to carry out superior quality rated work.
Is it as good as dentures made by dentists?
Generally in fact, dentists do not manufacture dentures. They are made by subcontractors: dental technicians. So, to answer your question: Yes, the dentures are of good quality, since they are made by qualified and experienced dental technicians.
How long does it take to get my kit and receive the finished dentures?
It takes 5 working days to receive the kit and approximately 20 days to receive your new dentures.
If my new dentures hurt, who will adjust them?
In the kit, you will find a small tool to scrape rough parts yourself. You’ve had dentures before, so you know there are sometimes some adjustments.
